Part-Time Administrative Assistant

Job Purpose:

The Part-Time Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of Hagley Museum. This position works collaboratively with various departments to ensure smooth and efficient processes for bookkeeping, internal communications, and other important tasks.

 

Specific Duties:

  • Assisting with day-to-day operations and administrative tasks
  • Supporting projects and special events coordination
  • Preparing, managing, and overseeing daily deposits from the Visitor Center and Museum Store
  • Drafting and distributing Daily Memo communications for guides and Visitor Services staff
  • Daily inspection of visitor areas in and around the Visitor Center, Museum Store, and other front-line areas
  • Monitoring the Ask Hagley email inbox, answering or directing guest inquiries as appropriate
  • Performing other duties as needed to contribute to the overall success of the organization

 

Minimum Experience and Required Skills:

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent with two years’ relevant experience in administrative duties
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced knowledge of features supporting administrative tasks, such as calendar management and document formatting for professional correspondence
  • Comfort in learning basics of various software programs used for scheduling, accounting, and other administrative functions
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency in financial record-keeping and communication
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

 

Schedule:

8:30am to 12:30pm, Monday through Friday (20 hours per week)

Compensation:

$18.00 per hour
