PJFM Screening Committee Member

Philadelphia Jewish Film and Media (PJFM) seeks movie buffs who are looking to go behind the scenes in film programming and help expand this organization with their passion and skills by joining the Screening Committee. Screening Committee members receive confidential, online screener links to the latest films – features and shorts – from across the globe to consider for PJFM’s annual programming, including its signature Jewish film and media festival every November.

Member feedback is essential to helping PJFM curate the best in Jewish international cinema and digital media. Members also have hands-on involvement with all PJFM programming, from introducing films at events to interviewing special guests, from directors to actors and more, either virtually or in person.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Virtually preview and review new films that are considered for the organization on a typically monthly basis.
  • Conduct interviews with special guests virtually or in person, depending on member location.
  • Introduce films at in-person events. (Local members only.)

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Strong passion for cinema and film festivals.
  • Excellent speaking and interviewing skills.
  • Interest in Judaism or Jewish cinema is preferred but not required.

This is a flexible volunteer position, and PJFM Screening Committee members receive no compensation. Come join the PJFM team and help make a difference!
