Program Director, Culinary Arts, Food & Wine

Reports to: Director of Programs

Status: Part-time/10-15 hours per week (varies weekly)

Position available: February 2025

Location: Creutzburg Center/Hybrid

FUNCTION

Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Program Director plans avocational classes for adults in their designated area of responsibility.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

PROGRAM PLANNING

  • Collaborate with programming staff to design a balanced portfolio of new and repeat classes.
  • Generate and implement innovative class ideas to achieve enrollment and revenue targets.
  • Monitor consumer and market trends to ensure relevance and competitiveness of MLSN’s class content and pricing.
  • Recruit new instructors and manage current instructors, fostering class development.

CATALOG DEVELOPMENT

  • Input and manage class and instructor information in internal database.
  • Write, edit and proofread class descriptions for catalogs.
  • Adhere to strict timelines for catalog production.

OPERATIONS

  • Coordinate with site managers for classroom setup and equipment/technology needs
  • Maintain on-site presence to address instructor and student needs and assess programs.
  • Collaborate with Director of Volunteers to recruit volunteer assistance, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; at least one year of experience in adult education program development and execution.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and customer service abilities.
  • Effective as both an independent worker and team member.
  • Established connections within the Main Line area for partnerships and instructor recruitment.
