Part-time Development and CommunicationsORGANIZATION BACKGROUND: After-School All-Stars (ASAS) is one of the leading national afterschool program providers in the country. Our comprehensive school-based programs combine academics, enrichment, and health and fitness activities to help build the knowledge and skills children need to succeed, both in school and in life. Founded by Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1992, ASAS is building a national model for on-site afterschool programs during the hours of 3:00-6:00 p.m. providing delivery of impactful programs through our 18 chapters, all of which serve nearly 150,000 youth in major urban localities. A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY: After-School All-Stars Philadelphia Camden is currently seeking a part-time Development and Marketing Manager (DMM) working approximately 15-20 hours each week, with a focus on Fundraising and Communications for the Philadelphia/Camden Chapter. Reporting to the Executive Director, the DMM’s primary responsibility will be to identify, steward, and secure funding to support the chapter and to manage communication through newsletters, social media, and other forms of communication. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and strategize with the Executive Director and Advisory Board to solicit gifts and grants Research and identify new funding prospects capable of supporting ASAS Prepare and write proposals and reports for new and continuing funding opportunities Establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships to support the organization Assist in building and managing the Advisory Board Plan and host fundraising events. Develop and lead a comprehensive communications plan to build awareness and support Ensure that marketing and fund development are carried out in keeping with the organization’s values, mission, vision and strategic program quality improvement, research and evaluation plans Use and maximize provided systems, such as Raiser’s Edge, Canva, GiveSmart etc. Keep detailed, transparent records of all Development and Marketing activities Assist the organization in an ever-evolving environment Perform other duties as assigned WHO SHOULD APPLY: The DMM should embody ASAS’s core values: accountable, collaborative, transparent, proactive, and entrepreneurial, and demonstrate a commitment to the mission of helping kids succeed in school and in life. This individual will have demonstrated success in development and fundraising, building new relationships, and external and internal communications. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Experience with grants and a successful fundraising track record in Philadelphia is preferred. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the following: 2 or more years of relevant experience in fundraising and communications Excellent oral and written communication skills Passion for our mission Dependable, conscientious, detail-oriented, and capable of managing deadlines Capable of working independently and as part of a team Flexible and able to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment An undergraduate degree in a relevant field is required Able to work onsite in a hybrid environment located in Philadelphia Occasionally travel to school sites in Philadelphia, PA and Camden, NJ SALARY AND BENEFITS: This is an hourly position, with competitive pay offered commensurate with experience. Prorated time off may be provided. Part-time employees working more than 15 hours are provided the option to enroll in a part-time benefit plan available for new employees, employee is responsible for total plan expense.
