Studio School Manager

The Abington Art Center seeks a charismatic person to manage the Studio School front desk. The person will need to be adaptable and good at problem solving. An artistic background is required. Candidate must be an ambassador for Abington Art Center who is able to become familiar with our organizational offerings. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential, as well as experience managing staff. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills, technological proficiency and familiarity with databases. The Studio School Manager will work 20 hours per week, times to be determined based on prospective employee schedule.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising Studio School staff
  • Identifying daily tasks for staff to handle 
  • Maintaining Studio School Staff Schedules
  • Registering students for classes and workshops 
  • Keeping statistics on Studio School activity
  • Troubleshooting and updating the student database
  • Ordering supplies
  • Booking models as needed
  • Fielding phone and in-person inquiries about interdepartmental offerings 
  • Answering emails
  • Taking credit card payments
  • Performing opening and closing duties
  • Supporting studio school classroom maintenance 
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required/ BFA Preferred
  • 2+ years of experience managing staff preferred

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, including DOCX, Sheets, Calendar and Drive
  • Proficiency in managing schedules and calendars 
  • Experience working in a CRM database
  • Familiarity with visual arts classes and materials

Applicants must have up-to-date clearances as required by Pennsylvania.

Pay Rate: $16/hour

Located on a historic 27-acre campus in Jenkintown, PA, just outside of Center City Philadelphia, Abington Art Center presents art exhibitions, creative programs, community forums and cultural events for the eastern Montgomery County and Philadelphia area. Their Studio School provides classes in painting, drawing, printmaking, papermaking, ceramics and metals for both adults and youth.
