Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance

Bloomberg Arts Internship

The Bloomberg Arts Internship (BAI) and Bloomberg Arts Internship - School Year (BAISY) are programs for rising high school seniors in Philadelphia, New York City, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Boston, Detroit and San Francisco. Interns are paired with local arts and culture organizations to gain paid, real-world work experience while participating in professional development sessions, cultural immersion activities and post-secondary readiness workshops. BAI aims to ensure that participating students develop critical professional skills and prepare for the workforce while supporting the host city's vibrant creative industries.

This internship program is a rare paid opportunity for high school students in Philadelphia! In addition to gaining valuable experience, the interns are compensated with a competitive wage ($17.53/hour for Summer 2025) and are provided with benefits like transportation and meals.

Throughout the course of the program, interns are immersed in professional development workshops that are focused on our educational goals or program pillars.

  • Post-Secondary Readiness: Interns learn the skills needed to move seamlessly from high school into a post-secondary learning environment or career.
  • Self-Advocacy: Interns learn to advocate for their individual needs with confidence and professionalism on their journey to success.
  • Self-Actualization: Interns are able to recognize how their work will help them reach their full potential.
  • Public Speaking: Interns are able to speak confidently to a varied audience.

The 2026 Summer program is an eight-week program (June 19 to August 14, 2026) that allows students to work up to 35 hours per week. The Summer program is followed by the 2026-2027 School Year Program where select interns who participated in the summer program can continue their internship from mid-September through May for up to 10 hours per week.

Interested participants should attend the next information session.
The next session will be held on Wednesday, January 21 at 5:30 p.m.
