Summer Camp Coordinator

Reports to: Manager of Children and Youth Education 

Position Classification: Temporary, Part Time 

Wage Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt 

Start Date: Monday, June 5, 2023 

End Date: Friday, July 28, 2023 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Under the supervision of Fleisher’s Manager of Children & Youth Education, the Summer Camp Coordinator provides logistical support for Fleisher’s 2023 Summer Camp and After Camp Club. During the term, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM this position will provide support during lunch, class transitions, and class activities. From 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM this position be the point person and administrator of the “After Camp Club” for campers staying until 5:30 PM.  

This position requires a highly organized person with experience working with children 5 - 12. The ideal candidate would have excellent visitor service skills as well as a flexible working style. This position would work onsite from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, from June 5 to July 28. This includes a mandatory training session for staff and faculty on Wednesday, June 14 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports and daily attendance. 
  • Provides conflict resolution should an incident between students occurs. 
  • Support teaching artists, teaching assistants, and the manager of children & youth education with daily flow of activities and classes. 
  • Responsible for After Camp Club including creating attendance sheets, checking students in and out, communications, and activity planning. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Must be at least 18 years old.  
  • Experience working with children in formal or informal settings. 
  • Familiarity with art education preferred. 
  • Ability to work as a team member with teaching artists, teaching assistants, and Fleisher staff. 
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks outside in various climates. 
  • Language skills in Spanish, Mandarin and Cantonese a plus. 
  • Clearances and Certifications required before the start of Camp: 
    • PA Child Abuse History 
    • FBI Background check with fingerprinting  
  • First AID and CPR Certification  

 

COMPENSATION 

$20/hour, Part Time (30 hours a week)
