Marketing InternJob Description The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) is seeking a part-time Fall Intern to work closely with the Digital Content Manager. The internship will run from September – December 2022. The intern must be available 24 hours a week. This position will receive a stipend of $1,500. College credit is also available. Projects will include: creative writing for blog, email, website, and internal and external communications; interviewing subject matter experts; helping to develop content calendars; fact-checking; reviewing analytics; and brainstorming. This position will assist in executing a marketing and communications strategy that leverages the mission and values of PHS, as well as promotes ongoing campaigns such as branding efforts, the two PHS Pop Up Gardens and PHS Meadowbrook Farm, the promotion efforts for the Philadelphia Flower Show, and other organization activities. The intern will also assist in copywriting for strategic lead generation campaigns. Essential Functions Supports the implementation of the organization’s marketing strategy Assists in the execution of marketing timelines and project management Participates in brainstorming content ideas for the blog, website, and email campaigns Conducts interviews and sources content from various stakeholders, partners, and constituents Writes and edits content for the blog, website, and email communications Works within content management system to publish content to PHSonline.org Creates and sends email campaigns using MailChimp Supports the execution of the Flower Show marketing strategy and promotions Education, Experience and Skills Required Must be majoring in Communications, Marketing, or Journalism Rising Juniors or Seniors are preferred Ideal candidates will possess strong writing skills, keen attention to detail, and passion for connecting with people. Interest in horticulture and photography is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) Able to prioritize effectively and solve problems in real time Able to work both independently and collaboratively Creative, organized, and flexible Customer-focused Able to conduct and record interviews Able to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences and influencers, including volunteers, members, partners, and PHS staff Deadline to Apply: Monday, August 19, 2022 TO APPLY: Please provide a cover letter, resume, and (2) writing samples that are not term papers. |
