Arts and Economic Prosperity SurveyorsThe Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance seeks several surveyors to assist with surveying of arts and culture audiences from July 2022 - May 2023. Background: Founded in 1972, the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance is one of the nation’s best-known and most effective arts service organizations. We lead, strengthen and amplify the voices of a cultural community that ignites creativity, inspires people and is essential for a healthy region. As part of that work, the Cultural Alliance is committed to increasing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) within the Alliance and the broader cultural community. Through research, advocacy, and program development, we strive to achieve these goals. Position Overview: Surveyors will help to gather key data points (how much audiences spend, why they’re attending events, demographic information etc.) from audiences at arts and culture events in Greater Philadelphia. Data collected throughout this year will play an essential role in a nationwide research effort led by Americans for the Arts. Arts and culture organizations depend on that research, which is only possible through the work of the surveyors, to inform programming, operations, and most importantly, to secure funding for the vital work that they do. The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance will collect 1,600 audience surveys at arts and cultural organizations as part of our upcoming report, the 2023 Arts, Culture and Economic Prosperity in Greater Philadelphia. Surveying will be ongoing between now and May 2023. We will be sending 2-3 person teams to approximately 40 organizations. Surveyors will receive $30/hr for events worked – events will take place across the five-county region, and surveyors will be expected to work 1-2 events a month at two hours per event from now to May 2023. Surveyors will be collecting responses to a brief one-page survey via paper forms or via QR codes (done on audience members’ personal devices). Please fill out this interest form with your availability if you are interested in becoming a surveyor. Surveyors will be required to attend a paid 30-minute training session prior to beginning surveying. The Cultural Alliance is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion and welcomes and encourages individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences to apply. All surveyors should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including a booster vaccination) and will be expected to follow the COVID-19 guidelines of the organizations they are surveying at. Hours and Location: Training will be provided virtually via Zoom. Survey events will be located across the five-county region (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties), and preference will be given to surveyors who are available for a wide range of times and locations. Surveyors will be required to pick up materials at the Cultural Alliance’s office in Center City, Philadelphia. Compensation: $30/hr contract rate for events worked. |
