Executive DirectorArts Ed NJ is seeking an experienced professional to serve as its Executive Director. This leadership position provides the unique opportunity to bring people and organizations together and cultivate inclusive engagement to ensure equitable arts education across the state through the Arts Ed Now public campaign. Arts Ed NJ is the statewide voice for arts education and the performing arts affiliate for the National Federation of State High School Associations. Its mission is to create the proper conditions for arts learning to take place for the 1.4 million students attending nearly 2,400 schools in the state. Arts Ed NJ works directly with policy makers, the associations representing Principals, Supervisors, Educators, Parents, School Board Members, Superintendents and the discipline specific arts education associations (Dance, Music, Theatre and Visual Art) and all major cultural organizations. Arts Ed NJ leads the entire community through a focused commitment to research, advocacy, policy and communications while working to ensure access, participation, equity and quality for all students. The Executive Director will report to a board of directors. Arts Ed NJ operates with a $750,000 budget. Roles and Responsibilities
Qualifications Five to ten years of progressive leadership experience in public, nonprofit or educational administration and management. A demonstrated commitment to workplace equity, diversity, inclusion, and access is necessary. The candidate will have experience in arts education, particularly with programs involving standards development and implementation. Knowledge of the state of New Jersey and its surrounding arts communities, the arts education ecosystem as well as the political landscape will be helpful attributes.
