Operations Coordinator

Blue Stoop is a 501c(3) fiscally sponsored nonprofit project of Culture Works Philadelphia that nurtures an inclusive literary community by creating pathways to access writing education, inspiration, and professional support, and celebrating Philadelphia’s rich writing tradition. 

Blue Stoop seeks a part-time Operations Coordinator to manage the operations of our seasonal course offerings in the craft of writing, our weekly Wednesday on the Stoop activity series, and our In Conversation event series as well as managing the administration of Blue Stoop’s finances and general day to day operations. Duties include coordinating with teaching artists, publicists, and cultural event venues, creating and managing online events via Facebook, Eventbrite, and Zoom, designing content and posting it to Instagram & Facebook, updating the Blue Stoop website and database, submitting invoices, reimbursements and payroll, hosting weekly and monthly events by Zoom and other related duties as assigned. The Operations Coordinator would attend and manage any in-person events once in-person workshops become safe again. Desired start date is November 1, 2021.

A successful candidate will be:

located in Philadelphia
have an appreciation for the literary arts and book culture 
have good organizational skills and be able to complete work efficiently & track hours
have experience working remotely in collaboration & the ability to manage their time and tasks independently
have an understanding of the power dynamics associated with individual/group identities and systemic oppression, particularly in the arts and culture sectors in Philadelphia
warm, welcoming, and able to connect with people on a personal level
able to communicate confidently and clearly in public settings
able to communicate consistently and clearly through email
a proactive communicator and problem solver
have experience creating content for Facebook and Instagram
have a strong grasp of digital platforms including Zoom, google docs, and (or be willing to learn) the technology involved with financial accounting systems and database management
able to travel to and from local events once per month and once per season when in-person events resume

Position currently requires 10-12 hours per week of dedicated work with the potential to increase hours and responsibilities. Compensation is $18/hour paid as contract labor.
