Community Program/Engagement Specialist (Planner IV)

As a Planner, this position advises the Director on the nonprofit arts sector, community development and engagement, and program assessment and evaluation. Planners manage grants, conduct research, develop and promote agency programs, and coordinate and participate in strategic planning and policy implementation.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Research and track demographic trends in the state to inform agency planners
  • Establish connections with community respresentatives for research and needs assessment
  • Identify community partners and stakeholders for support of arts initiatives
  • Support community-based strategies for economic development and community engagement
  • Monitor local and national trends in efforts to expand diversity, equity, and inclusion in arts funding
  • Develop grant programs and services for historically underserved populations
  • Coordinate with other Planners to establish efficiencies of internal operations and maximize funding impact of available Division resources

Working with Division staff and community partners, this Planner will assist in identifying and/or developing grants, programs and services that expand access to arts programming and resources aligning with the Division's strategic goals and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.  Responsibilities include researching and administering community-based arts grants and initiatives for Delaware's historically underserved populations, specifically, BIPOC and socio-economically disadvantaged populations.
