Circulation Manager, The Curtis Institute of Music

Reports to: Assistant Dean of the Library and Archives 

Status: Exempt

Reporting to the assistant dean of the library and archives, the circulation manager oversees all circulation activities in the Curtis Institute of Music library. The circulation manager works collaboratively with the assistant dean of the library and archives, associate librarian, and systems and cataloging librarian to provide excellent service and easy access to physical library materials. This is a full-time, 9-month position (September-May) with full-year benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct public service at the circulation desk including the circulation of all materials.
  • Manage student, faculty, staff, and alumni patron accounts
  • Perform all circulation tasks in the ILS (Sierra)
  • Collaborate with assistant librarian to train and supervise student workers doing circulation tasks
  • Schedule circulation desk coverage
  • Calculate daily circulation statistics
  • Collect payment for fines and lost book fees
  • Manage daily re-shelving and occasional shelf shifting projects
  • Manage stack maintenance
  • Work with outside binding contractor on preparation, pick-up, delivery, and inventory
  • Accession all new book and score acquisitions
  • Answer directional and music reference questions as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the assistant dean of the library and archives
  • Collaborate with campus security staff on library safety and security
