Sr Program Manager for Community Engagement

Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Sr Manager Community Engagement Programs is to develop and facilitate Community Engagement programs for the Kimmel Center.   The primary goal is to increase unrepresented artists and audiences impacted by Kimmel Cultural Campus.

The Sr Manager working closely with the Sr Director of Education and Community Engagement and working collaboratively with the Community Engagement Programs and Education staff, will carry out tasks necessary to develop, implement, administer, track, report, document, monitor and promote Community Engagement programs and departmental initiatives. 

Essential Functions:  

General

  • Work collaboratively with all Community Engagement and Education Department Staff
  • Assist the Sr Director in managing the Program Coordinator for Community Engagement and lead communication with the Community Events Specialist and Education Liaison
  • Serve as a team member who supports all education activities as well as other relevant duties as requested by the Sr Director, noting that approximately 10-15% of time may be allocated to existing Education programs that are community based
  • Align customer service within the standards of KCI
  • Other duties as assigned by the Sr Director Education

 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts Administration or Other related field
  • 10+ years of experience in Program Administrator
  • Professional Experience in the Arts or Community Engagement or Education 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of professional practices in Community Engagement, Nonprofit Management, Education, Musical Theater, Jazz , Music Technology
  • Experience in program development and management
  • Experience working with Community Groups and Artists
  • Proficient in MS Office with Microsoft Office (all products).  Familiarity with music, ticketing, scheduling and project management software with ability to learn software quickly.
  • Excellent organizational skills & attention to details with ability to plan, manage and evaluate projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong connections with Artists and Community
  • Strong ability to plan, manage and evaluate projects
  • Ability to work under pressure, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Work independently & collaboratively with good judgment and decision making achieving agreed objectives

Physical and Non-Physical Demands:

  • Office Environment
  • Physical activity related to hand on active teaching and student interaction
  • Represent the Kimmel Center at locally produced arts events, looking for partnerships, teaching artists, staff etc.
  • Local travel to school and community sites and occasional national travel
