Managing Director
New Music Ensemble Relâche Seeks Part-Time Managing Director Relâche, an adventurous contemporary ensemble dedicated to performing the music of today, seeks an entrepreneurial freelance Managing Director who will cultivate wider funding sources, increase our visibility, and expand our opportunities to commission and showcase the works of today's exciting composers. This is a new position created to bolster our longstanding mission of commissioning new works by diverse composers and exposing wide audiences to music that reflects the tenor of the times we are living in. The plan is for this position to grow into a full-time Executive Director position, which will depend on successful fundraising and marketing activities. Job title: Managing Director Location: Remote position, with possible occasional travel to Philadelphia. Hours: Estimated 10 hours a week on average. Compensation: $20 an hour, up to $10,000 a year. Job description: The Managing Director is responsible for positioning Relâche for a new era by broadening awareness of its exceptional 40-year history of championing musical innovation and diversity, introducing new audiences to its signature blend of unconventional yet approachable music, and significantly expanding its base of financial support. The Managing Director works closely with the co-Artistic Directors and reports directly to the ensemble's Board of Directors. Qualifications: The ideal candidate is a successful arts manager and fundraiser who enjoys initiating and maintaining fruitful relationships with people with diverse backgrounds and identities, and is also proficient with technology. Knowledge of the new music world and the ability to forge artistic and administrative partnerships and connections are big plusses. Qualifications details:
