Youth Teen Art Program Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist Executive Director with the development and implementation of youth and teen educational programming in alignment with the Center’s mission and goals

Assist Executive Director with recruitment/scheduling of instructors, interns and volunteers.

Further develop onsite and online program offerings for youth and teens.

Coordinate and oversee program schedules and address logistical issues and communications with appropriate staff regarding schedules, studio set-up requirements, etc.

Monitor and manage WAC class registration system and student enrollment.

Monitor approved budget for Youth/Teen programs in concert with the Executive Director.

Coordinate special programs such as family workshops, scout troops, etc.

Assist Executive Director in the development and implementation of outreach programs.

Plan, coordinate and attend community events where WAC is represented.

Coordinate art and equipment supply orders, manage inventory and supply budgets.

Organize youth/teen art exhibitions.

Work with staff in the planning and execution of communication strategies with press and through print and digital platforms to ensure marketing goals are met.

Oversee teen interns and volunteers as needed and ensure they are adequately trained and recognized for their efforts.

Regularly evaluate programs, analyze data and prepare activity reports and statistics for management

Compile required teacher and vendor clearances and ensure they are current.

Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree, MFA or MA in Arts Education, MS in Arts Admin. preferred.

3 year’s administrative/managerial experience in an arts educational/non-profit environment.

COMPETENCIES:

Excellent verbal, written communication skills and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships with key constituencies.

Program and budget/cost management experience, resourcefulness in managing budgets.

Excellent problem solving skills, flexibility, creative thinking and ability to bring problems to a successful resolution.

Computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office, Teams and Adobe Creative Cloud. An aptitude for technology and ability to learn other platforms as needed.

Ability to exercise sound judgement, maintain a high degree of confidentiality and ability to identify and avoid conflicts of interest.

Appropriate and professional behavior dealing with staff, faculty, students, volunteers and the public.

Strong project management skills, highly organized with impeccable attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Self-directed style, ability to work independently, proactively and efficiently with only moderate direction or supervision. Effectively follows through on assignments.

Take ownership of issues and action items.

Flexible, open to input and sudden changes, comfortable with the unexpected and ability to handle stress diplomatically.

Excellent customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.

Ability to promote team work and collaboration.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Familiarity with Main Line community and reside within close proximity to Center.

Valid driver’s license and car.

Ability to maneuver or lift 25 pounds

Background checks and applicable clearances required.

Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.

YOUTH TEEN ART PROGRAM COORDINATOR

The Youth/Teen Art Program Coordinator will be committed to the mission, goals, and policies of Wayne Art Center. The Youth/Teen Art Program Coordinate is responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination and implementation of high-quality youth/teen arts educational programs that will serve to provide arts enrichment, enhance awareness and foster deeper engagement and access to Wayne Art Center. The Youth/Teen Art Program Coordinator serves as an ambassador to WAC working directly with the public through classes and other public activities.
