JOB TITLE: Housing Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Student Affairs
REPORTS TO: Director for Residence Life and Conduct

JOB SUMMARY:
The Housing Coordinator manages all areas of functioning for the residential facilities. This is a live-in, 12 month position. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages a residential community of 600+ students. 
  • Facilitates housing and meal plan assignment processes, including incoming student placement, housing selection, and room change process.
  • Coordinates day-to-day management of the housing database system.
  • Maintains accurate housing and meal plan records including billing in StarRez, Colleague, and Blackboard.
  • Coordinates facility management, including weekly building walkthroughs, room inventories, Health & Safety room inspections, work orders, damage billing, and the opening and closing of the residential facilities.
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of room and mailbox keys within the residential facilities.
  • Manages the inventory and replacements of room/building furniture, micro-fridges, and laundry equipment in residential facilities. 
  • Collaborates with the Office of Educational Accessibility to account for housing accommodations 
  • Partners with outside vendors including but not limited to; Micro-fridge, Our Campus Marketing, and Xfinity cable service.
  • Communicates with the Facilities department to manage work orders, damages, and building upgrades in the residential facilities. 
  • Coordinates off-campus housing information and data collection.
  • Conducts training sessions and in-services for Resident Assistants/Community Advisors essential housing operations.
  • Responds to critical issues in the residence halls including facility emergencies and student concerns.
  • Collaborates with Continuing Studies during the summer to manage the Pre-College Summer Institute housing population.
  • Aids in the updates and revisions to the Student Handbook.
  • Aids in the maintenance of departmental on-line portal and webpages.
  • Serves in the 12 month On-Duty rotation at the Professional on Duty level.
  • Assists during large scale events hosted by Student Affairs; including but not limited to: Orientation, Resident Assistant/Community Advisor Trainings, RA banquet, and the Student Leadership Awards celebration.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Education, Student Affairs, or similar area.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in residence life, student conduct, and/or activities.
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills and be comfortable working within a prescribed student code of conduct, adjudicating cases, following up on all reported infractions, and the ability to provide direction to a residential community of 600+ students.
