Fine Art Services Assistant

The Philadelphia Photo Arts Center (PPAC) is currently seeking an experienced individual for a part-time position of Fine Art Services Assistant. This position will work with the Master Printer to complete projects for service clients.

We are seeking an individual who has experience operating a wide format roll laminator to mount large format fine art prints. An understanding of the different materials used in the process is a must. A successful candidate should be extremely detail oriented, a good problem solver, and should have the ability to meet deadlines. Candidates should also have excellent customer service and good communication skills.

While not required, candidates with experience in framing is a plus. The hours of this position will start on an as needed basis, but there is the potential to shift into a more permanent position.

The hired candidate will also have access to PPAC’s Artist Lab, so working artists with an active personal practice are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to and work in collaboration with the Master Printer.
  • Operate a wide format roll laminator to face mount prints, apply film overlaminates to prints, and mount large format fine art inkjet prints to various materials, including, but not limited to: sintra, dibond, foamcore, museum board, and plexi.
  • When jobs require it, adhere wooden frames to the back of mounted prints for hanging.
  • When necessary, meet with clients to review finished work and/or collaborate to find the best possible solution.
