Event Volunteer

If you're looking for a way to the support the arts in Philadelphia, why not become a volunteer? The Center for Art in Wood, a nonprofit museum located in Old City, is looking for some enthusiastic volunteers to help support our event staff, to ensure a great experience for our guests.   Events at the Center are mostly held on weekday evenings and on weekends.

Expectations: Volunteers are required to arrive an hour prior to the event and must be able to stay through to the end of the event.  Some Volunteer duties include: greeting guests and informing them about the Center’s exhibition and permanent collection, serving wine, drinks and food, checking coats, facilitating craft activities for children, and  staffing information tables, inside and outside the Center. Perks include discounts to our museum store and special invitations to exclusive programs.

Qualifications: Volunteers must be 21 and older and be able to remain on their feet for a period of up to 4 hours.  Volunteers must be able to walk a flight a stairs, bend and lift up to 20 pounds. Volunteers will need to attend training sessions and complete required background child clearance checks.  Volunteers will need to provide both their email and their cell phone number for scheduling and information about their duties at certain events.
