MANAGER OF INDIVIDUAL GIVING & MEMBERSHIP – JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Manager of Individual Giving & Membership is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Provides the strategic and tactical management of the Individual Giving and Membership program, by designing and implementing timely solicitations, acknowledgements and recognition of individuals capable of making gifts to the Mann.

 

  • Manages, stewards, and cultivates relationships for a portfolio of 100-200 potential prospects.
  • Strategically coordinates the departmental activities with the Director of Major Gifts and Vice President for Institutional Advancement for desired results.
  • Creates and manages multichannel strategies to retain, steward, upgrade and grow the Mann’s membership database.
  • Writes, creates and coordinates the timely production and distribution of compelling print and electronic membership direct marketing, including solicitations, renewals, brochures, annual appeals, newsletter, website, e-blasts and other materials as needed.
  • Creates a “pipeline” of donors who have the capacity to move into higher levels of annual giving including any ongoing capital or endowment campaigns.
  • Plans, implements, and supervises special events provided for donors and prospects.
  • Meets all fundraising annual goals as outlined in the Development budget.
  • Promotes planned giving programs.
  • Ensure positive relationships with current donors and prospects through front-facing meetings, regular phone contact and other donor-centered cultivation activities.
  • Provide oversight and stewardship for all individual annual fund contributions.
  • Manages the execution and coordination of all annual fund donor benefits including concierge ticketing through the manager of Donor Relations and Stewardship.
  • Prepares donor/prospect attendee lists for all concerts and distributes to appropriate staff.
  • Coordinates interns as they relate to donor program.
  • Prepares monthly reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Attends most Mann concerts throughout the season and actively engages in donor cultivation.
  • Provides oversight of acknowledgment letters to all individual giving donors in a timely (weekly) and personal manner.

 

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of fundraising experience, preferably in the performing arts. This position also requires a minimum of two years directly managing staff and departmental budget
  • Proven track record in managing multichannel direct marketing campaigns that generate sustainable revenue streams
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, ability to write and speak in clear and compelling ways and to articulate the Mann’s mission and values.
  • Demonstrated track of meeting deadlines, establishing appropriate priorities, completing work in a timely manner
  • Creativity when defining solutions.
  • Self-motivated
  • A valid driver’s license is necessary.
