Education Coordinator III- Office Of Student Life and Engagement

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

Educational coordinator for the SKMC UME Humanities Thread in JeffMD and co-curricular humanities programs for health professions students. Responsibilities include managing the administrative needs of approximately fifteen humanities selective courses throughout the year and a robust co-curricular program of humanities events; tracking student enrollment, participation and assessment in courses and a co-curricular certificate program; organizing and executing events; developing program marketing materials; and interacting on an ongoing, as needed basis with faculty, staff, and outside vendors and speakers. 

                                                                         

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Administrates co-curricular certificate program for students and works collaboratively with Humanities Thread Director to ensure success of JeffMD Humanities Selectives program.
  • Manages administrative needs of approximately 15 humanities courses throughout the year. Organizes calendar of course sessions.
  • Communicates with course instructors regarding grades, assignments, attendance, and instructor needs.
  • Maintains course descriptions and Blackboard course portal.
  • Tracks student enrollment, participation, and completion of programs, and corresponds with students about selective and certificate program details.
  • Researches prospective collaborators, including visiting artists and scholars, instructors and community partners; hosts guests and arranges travel as needed.
  • Organizes and implements event plans and registration, including technical (A/V), catering, and custodial needs.
  • Attends and provides hands-on assistance at humanities events (some night and weekend hours required).
  • Generates video, blog posts, photos, and other media about humanities programs. Works with graphic and web designers to develop program marketing materials.
  • Maintains jefferson.edu/humanities website and program newsletter.
  • Interacts with co-workers, alumni, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in education, arts, humanities or social sciences required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of 5 years prior related experience, higher education experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Knowledge of and ability to use Internet and intranet-based systems for information gathering.

Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, Blackboard Learning Management System, and ExamSoft.

Ability to use and maintain databases.

Proficient in typing.
