Learn more about the Bloomberg Arts Internship...

This is Philadelphia's Bloomberg Arts Internship, a summer internship for rising high school seniors attending a Philadelphia public school or public charter. An internship can give your college application a boost or help you along your career path, but not all internships are the same. Bloomberg interns spend their summers making the arts happen in Philly! Every year, we partner with dozens of museums, theaters, and historic sites across Philadelphia to provide creatively challenging, meaningful, paid internship experiences. Some of our past worksite partners have included the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Asian Arts Initiative, Taller Puertorriqueno, InLiquid Art & Design, and many MANY more! Bloomberg interns redesign websites, run social media campaigns, conduct research, build art installations, and much more! But that’s not all. As an intern, you will develop your skills as a collaborator and public speaker, build a professional resume, and receive professional help writing your college essay.

This is an amazing opportunity to develop vital professional skills, explore Philadelphia’s rich arts and culture community and develop the perfect college application.

There’s more to arts and culture in Philadelphia than you know. Bloomberg Arts Interns get behind-the-scenes access to the inner workings of many of the city’s most iconic cultural institutions and participate in vital conversations about what makes the sector tick. A Bloomberg Arts Internship is more than a summer job, it’s a window into a whole world of professional opportunities.

This spring, 60 rising seniors (graduating spring 2023) from Philadelphia public schools will be selected for the 2022 Bloomberg Arts Internship. During the eight-week paid internship, interns will work at Philadelphia’s leading arts organizations, attend rigorous professional development workshops and tour our region’s most important cultural sites. This is an amazing opportunity to develop vital professional skills while exploring Philadelphia’s rich arts and culture community.

The internship provides the following benefits:
- SEPTA prepaid Weekly Transpass (or equivalent) for in-person internships or activities
- Free, behind-the-scenes access to cultural institutions,
- $14.47/hour for all worksite hours, workshops attended, and cultural immersion events

The Bloomberg Arts Internship is from June 21 - August 12, 2022. Interns are expected to be able to attend all regular workdays, cultural site visits, and professional development sessions.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with interviews to be held in March and April. The deadline to submit your application is April 30.

What will the Bloomberg Arts Internship look like in 2022

This summer, we are planning to offer in-person worksite experience opportunities for all of our interns. Though much of our professional development will be held virtually, we will bring the cohort together for several in-person meetings. We will provide more updates on plans in the spring.

School Year Internships

Originally launched as a pilot in 2021, the School Year Internship will offer seven 2022 Summer Interns the opportunity to continue a worksite experience through the 22-23 school year. Only members of the summer 2022 internship cohort are eligible to apply for the School Year program.
