CLAY DATE INSTRUCTORDelaware Art Museum is currently seeking experienced art instructors to teach adult a monthly adult ceramic workshop beginning in September 2017. This Studio Art Instructor will provide quality instruction for a range of skill levels, cultivate a community of learners, and promote a positive and supportive learning environment. The instructor will be responsible for conducting Clay Date, a ceramic workshop held on the second Friday evening of the month. Participants are taught hand building and wheel throwing techniques, while learning in a social atmosphere. Some additional responsibilities may apply. Qualifications BFA from an accredited college/university or demonstrated success as a teaching artist Prior teaching experience in an educational setting or informal learning environment A unique regional art museum, the Delaware Art Museum is located on an 11-acre site in the Brandywine Valley within easy driving distance of Philadelphia. It features an internationally renowned collection of British Pre-Raphaelite art, spectacular holdings of American painting, sculpture, and work on paper, with particular strengths in the art of John Sloan, the Ashcan School, Howard Pyle and American Illustration art. It includes site-specific installations by Dale Chihuly and James Turrell. With enhanced education programs and services such as a unique research library, an interactive gallery for young children, a café and an expanded store, the Museum serves a broad, diverse and growing community. |
