Board Meetings: Is Your Organization Complying with Parliamentary Procedure?

Nonprofit Boards are expected to follow parliamentary procedure during their meetings. Directors rightfully expect (as do members) that those running a meeting know and consistently and fairly apply the rules. Individual directors should also be conversant with the rules and they can be far more effective in meeting their responsibilities and promoting their positions when they do. A failure to operate within accepted parliamentary procedure can lead an otherwise sound organization astray. Did you know a little used procedural shortcut is available to expedite non-controversial agenda items?

  • Avoiding common meeting pitfalls

  • When and how the rules can be relaxed
