Philadelphia Corporation for Aging’s M. Powell Lawton Conference November 12
Focuses on Evaluating Neighborhood Programs

Philadelphia Corporation for Aging will sponsor its annual M. Powell Lawton Conference on Urban Aging on Thursday, November 12. This year’s event, entitled “Evaluating Neighborhood Programs: Measuring Outcomes, Determining Effectiveness,” will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at The Union League, located at 140 South Broad St. in Philadelphia. Evaluating programs is considered vital to measuring community impact and obtaining funding. The conference will provide small and mid-sized organizations with the background and tools needed to complete an effective evaluation of their programs and services with limited resources. Sessions include selecting appropriate outcomes; carrying out an evaluation; learning about helpful resources; and understanding what constitutes a reliable evaluation from the funders’ perspective. The conference is sponsored by Bravo Health, with support from the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Registration is $25 and includes lunch. Continuing education credits for social workers are available. Proceeds generated by the conference benefit the Emergency Fund for Older Philadelphians. For more information call 215-765-9000, ext. 5050; email events@pcaphl.org or visit www.pcaCares.com/lawton.
