Randy Cohen from AFTA Presents on the National Arts Index

The Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy and the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance are hosting a special event with Randy Cohen, Vice President for Local Arts Advancement at Americans for the Arts. Randy will speak about the newly released "National Arts Index." This important new research creates a national "index" (similar to our region's Cultural Engagement Index), that is designed to track the nation's arts health and vitality through a wide array of measurements that make up the index, and measure its up and down trends over the years.

The presentation will address some important questions about the health and growth of the cultural sector such as: What are the important trends? Is consumer participation on the rise? How is the sector affected by the growth in the number of nonprofit cultural organizations? What can we do with this knowledge?  How can we use it locally?  What does it mean for Philadelphia?  And how does this relate to existing local research, including the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance’s efforts with Engage 2020 and the Cultural Engagement Index?
