It involves strategy, planning, design, writing, data, volunteers, staff, consultants, opinion, compromise, consensus, revising, inclusion and exclusion, and financial considerations. It can shake an organization upside-down - from war over usage, to the drudgery of updating every piece of communication. Now add in a parent organization or multiple locations and things get even more complicated.
