Elixir: the Cure for the Common Gala

Join Mazzoni Center on Saturday, May 18, 2013 for a festive event supporting our programs and services for the LGBT community!
Our theme this year is “Leading Ladies,” and we will recognize outstanding female leaders who have advanced the cause of LGBT health and wellness, HIV/AIDS care and services, and civil rights. Marla Gold, MD, Dean of the Drexel University School of Public Health, will receive this year’s Peter Mazzoni Award, in recognition of her achievements and contributions to HIV care and public health in Philadelphia, and her advocacy on behalf of LGBT health and wellness. Also being honored at this year’s Elixir event are: Christina Kallas-Saritsoglou, co-founder of Philly AIDS Thrift store; and LGBT community activist Jaci Adams.  Guests will enjoy a full open bar, passed hors d'oeuvres and buffet, entertainment by vocal trio Hotsy-Totsy and by DJ Carl Michaels, a silent auction, and more! Guests who purchase VIP tickets will also enjoy champagne, free valet parking, and a performance by jazz vocalist and Philly native Dena Underwood. All VIP guests will automatically be entered into a special drawing for an overnight stay at the Loews that includes breakfast.  VIP tickets are $250; general admission tickets are $125; on sale at www.mazzonicenter.org or by calling 215-563-0652 x 218.  Proceeds will support the expansion of women's health services at Mazzoni Center Family and Community Medicine.
