Cultural Alliance Names Michael Norris VP of External Relations
Philadelphia, February 7th, 2012—The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance today announced the appointment of Michael Norris as its new Vice President of External Relations, directing the Alliance’s policy, community engagement and development initiatives. Norris will start March 19th.
“We’re thrilled to welcome someone with Michael’s passion for culture and commitment to the people of this region,” said Tom Kaiden, the Alliance’s president. “He’s the right person at the right time to help the Cultural Alliance ensure that culture is driving growth in every community throughout Greater Philadelphia.” Prior to leading Art-Reach, Norris spent nine years at the Arden Theatre Company, serving first as Development Director, and then as Director of External Relations, overseeing the company’s fundraising, marketing, public relations and community activities. A native of Chester County, PA, Norris graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a B.A. in journalism. He holds a certificate in fundraising from the University of Pennsylvania, and participated in the Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders at Stanford University Business School. He was selected in 2011 by Leadership Philadelphia as one of Philadelphia’s Creative Connectors.
