Join GroundSwell at the 2013 PHS Pop-up Garden!

It's been about six months since we first launched GroundSwell, and we're taking some time to reflect—and celebrate! In honor of our work so far and to say thanks for your support, we're inviting you and your friends to join us for happy hour in the 2013 PHS Pop-up Garden on July 25th from 5-8pm*. GroundSwell is all about community and highlighting the people, places and organizations improving quality of life in the Greater Philadelphia region, so what better place to gather than a vacant lot that's been transformed into a beautiful beer garden? Admission includes food and drink selections from the Pop-up Garden's excellent menu, and just by showing up you'll be automatically entered to win some cool swag like 2014 Philadelphia Flower Show tickets, GroundSwell T-shirts, and a free GroundSwell membership, which includes our exclusive "Do Something Good for a Change" print by local artist Mario Zucca.

• Kicked off GroundSwell with an MLK Day of Service celebration at The Arden Theatre
• Partnered with Musicopia to collect 27 gently used instruments for music students in need
• Encouraged Philadelphia residents to speak up for arts and culture and sign a petition to City Council to increase the budget for the Philadelphia Cultural Fund
• Partnered with the Penn Museum for a community night event to promote literacy and kick off a month-long book drive for Philadelphia READS which yielded 1,232 book donations
• Met 1,000s of enthusiastic arts supporters at the PIFA festival and asked them to hang out on our "stoop" and draw their vision of Greater Philly
• Partnered with the Friends of Clark Park to mulch, rake and beautify Clark Park for LOVE Your Park Spring Service Day
• And partnered with Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY) in a series of direct actions to encourage City Council and State Legislators to support public education and save art and music programs in our schools
