Apply for a Picasso Project Grant

Philadelphia Public Schools can apply for grants of up to $5,000 for projects created to increase arts education opportunities for students.

Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY) created The Picasso Project in 2002 in order to increase arts education opportunities for students in the School District of Philadelphia. This is done through yearly grants of up to $5,000 which are awarded to public schools for "projects that enhance and enrich the integration of the arts into the curriculum and classroom, often in partnership between school teachers, artists from the community and local arts organizations." Along with providing these grants, The Picasso Project is also engaged in advocacy for long-term changes in access to funding for arts education. As of Fall 2013, The Picasso Project has made grants totaling $422,000 to fund 100 arts projects, which have reached approximately 26,750 students.

On October 16th, the grant application and guidelines will be available. The grants awarded from this application process will support projects implemented during the 2014 spring semester.
