Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance

Last Chance to Register for the Arts & Parks Forum

Today, April 20, is the last day to register to vote and the last day to pre-register for the Arts & Parks Mayoral Forum and we want to make sure you do both! For Pennsylvanians, today is the last chance to register to vote in the May 19th primary.

If you are not registered to vote in Pennsylvania or have moved since the last election, please make sure you register today. You can download this application or pick one up at your local post office, liquor store, public library etc. and send or drop off to your county voter registration office. In Philadelphia, the address is 520 N. Columbus Blvd 5th Floor Philadelphia, PA 19123.

Today is also the last day to pre-register for the mayoral forum that GroundSwell and the Philadelphia Parks Alliance are co-hosting on Wednesday, April 22nd, from 5:45 - 7:30pm in the Montgomery Auditorium at the Central Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia. The candidates will address the role that arts & culture and parks & recreation play in the City of Philadelphia and how our sectors enhance the economy, environment and the quality of life of our residents.

Doors open at 5pm.

Our quality of life sectors play a sighttp://philaparks.ticketleap.com/mayoral-candidate-forum/detailsnificant role in making Philadelphia a great place to live, work and play. As we have seen in recent years with the cuts in funding to the Philadelphia Cultural Fund and the Parks and Recreation budgets, the Mayor plays a critical role in supporting our sectors and helping expand access to our cultural and recreational assets. This is a crucial election for our city in many ways, and we need to hear from the candidates about how they plan to support arts & culture and parks & recreation should they be elected mayor.

The forum is free and open to the public, but registration is requested. Click here to register. Walk ups will be welcomed but we cannot guarantee seating.

After the forum, we invite you to continue the discussion at our post-reception at City Tap House Logan Square.

Register now! Seating is limited and we expect this event to be at capacity!
