Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance

Help us pack the house for public testimony in support of the Philadelphia Cultural Fund!

On Thursday, May 21st, Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance President, Maud Lyon will be testifying during a City Council budget hearing to make the case for maintaining the budget for the Philadelphia Cultural Fund.

Help us pack the Council Chambers! We need to show City Council that Philadelphians from every neighborhood care about the future of arts & culture in our city. The hearing will begin at 6:30pm in City Hall Room 400. We need at least 200 people there, all rallying for PCF!

RSVP here.

We will kick off the event at 5pm Bru Craft & Wurst (1316 Chestnut Street), with happy hour specials to rally the troops and hand out signs!

In recent months, Philadelphia has received numerous accolades from around the country and the world, from hosting the Pope for his first American visit, to being recognized as the New York Times top 3 places to travel in 2015, Philadelphia is finally being recognized for all that it has to offer and we know that our rich and diverse cultural sector is one of the top reasons that Philadelphia is so attractive. Yet, city funding continues to be unreliable. Last year we told Council to #RestoreFundingPHL and they did. This year we are telling them to #SavePHLArts and maintain the Cultural Fund budget for FY2016 because we can't risk putting in jeopardy all that we have built.

Stand up for Philadelphia's cultural sector by showing up with us on the 21st. RSVP here to let us know we can count on your support!

Can't attend but still want to support? Send an email to your councilmember letting them  know that you support $3.14M for the Cultural Fund! Not a Philadelphia resident, but love visiting and patronizing the city's arts & culture institutions? Send your own email to Council President Clarke and let him know the arts are what bring you (and your dollars!) into the city.
