State Budget Update

Editor’s note: Governor Wolf will give his 2016-17 budget address Tuesday, February 9

While the state budget for 2015-2016 is still incomplete, Governor Wolf has strategically authorized earned income tax credits for cultural organizations, as well as portions of a budget bill including: $9.59 million for PCA grants, a $1 million increase from last year; $892,000 for administration of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a $6,000 reduction from last year; and $19.146 million for general government operations for the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, an increase of $202,000 from last year, with level funding for cultural and historical support through PHMC.

We'll continue to monitor the budget with our member organizations and statewide advocacy partners, and share any significant updates through our blog and social media.
