Do you play piano? Work with kids and change lives! (Main Line, PA)

Meridee Winters School of Music

Do you play piano and maybe guitar or drums too? Are you looking for a fun, creative part-time job? Do you like pancakes? (Us too! Pancakes aren't part of this position, but look at all the things we have in common.) Join our quirky, passionate community of music teachers and impact kids while making a great income teaching in-home music lessons. (And if you've never taught - keep reading! Neither had some of our most popular teachers.)

Change lives through music and make a great income teaching in-home music lessons on afternoons and/or weekends. Our teaching area includes locations in Chester, Montgomery and Delaware Counties - so applicants from the western suburbs (West Chester, Malvern, Paoli, Wayne, etc.), Main Line and the city are all encouraged to apply.

Currently, we have positions open to teach guitar, piano, bass, drums, voice, ukulele (and more!) starting at the competitive hourly rate of $29-$31/hr. (The ability to play two or more of these instruments is especially of value.)

Why teach with us? We provide:
• Connection to a stellar community of dynamic, talented, creative and successful musicians
• Continued learning and support through monthly teacher workshops
• Fun and engaging materials and games that make lessons fun and successful
• Master-level extensive teacher training with innovative teaching materials
• A teacher-friendly policy that provides a reliable monthly income
• A friendly and supportive office staff that crafts a realistic driving route and caters student interests and goals to the teaching specialties of each instructor. This makes lessons more fun and engaging for everyone!
• W2 payroll employment
• School-administered student billing (so you can focus on teaching!)
• One-of-a-kind performance opportunities at our Halloween Show, Songwriters Showcase and Year End Shows
• A unique schedule: Hours are weekdays after school (about 3-9pm), so you are free to pursue other interests during the day (higher education, another job, rehearsals, etc.). Weekends are an option as well - but not required!

What if I've never taught before?
That's ok! While teaching experience is great, we're more interested in finding dynamic, creative teachers who love music and will inspire their students. Meridee provides each of her new teachers with paid training sessions that cover everything from the nuts and bolts of getting results to empowering creativity. We also have monthly teacher meetings with free food, lively discussions and presentations on compelling topics. In addition, new teachers will have the chance to shadow a MW veteran teacher, and will come to their first lessons armed with fun materials, games, and lesson plans.

We do ask that you have or are pursuing your degree for this job, but it does NOT need to be in music.
A reliable car - since lessons are given in students' homes, you do need a reliable car to get to lessons. (Old cars are charming as long as they are reliable and clean.)
