TONIGHT: Can artistic creativity save our educational system?

Join White Pines Productions tonight, October 16th, as they host a presentation on how the arts can be utilized to save our educational system.

White Pines Productions is hosting their first presentation of this year's Lyceum, which will be held tonight, October 16th, at 7:30pm at Second Stage at the Adrienne. The Lyceum is a series of presentations that revolve around a different question each season. The first presentation of this year's Lyceum, Can artistic creativity save our educational system?, will be led by Aaron Bass, head of The KIPP Dubois Collegiate Academy. Faculty members from the school's drama, visual art, and music departments will join Mr. Bass.

In an environment of diminshed resources for schools across the country, the arts tend to be seen as "non-essential" or "extra." White Pines disagrees with that assessment and believes that eliminating the arts from the classroom is actually making the current public education crisis worse.

Registration for tonight's event is currently closed, but we have confirmed that this free event is still open to the public and anyone who has not yet registered is free to attend as a "walk-in" this evening.
