What is PhillyFunGuide?
PhillyFunGuide (www.phillyfunguide.com) is the Philadelphia regions first comprehensive, up-to-date consumer website featuring entertainment events. It is the single best place to turn on the internet to get complete, up-to-date information about leisure time activities in the Greater Philadelphia region.
Why is this online calendar different than all the others out there?
While there have been previous attempts at producing online entertainment calendars, this one is different. It presents information for a complete range of leisure-time activities in the entire Greater Philadelphia area music, dance, sports, fairs, festivals, outdoor activities, tours, parades, dining and more. PhillyFunGuide is also different because it is produced here in our area, not in New York or somewhere removed from where the events take place.
Who produces PhillyFunGuide?
PhillyFunGuide is the result of a collaborative effort, led by the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, of ten regional arts, culture and tourism marketing organizations.
Managed and maintained by the marketing staff of the Cultural Alliance, www.phillyfunguide.com is part of the Cultural Alliance's efforts to increase awareness of, participation in, and support for arts and culture organizations in the Greater Philadelphia area, including the Cultural Alliance's 380 member institutions.
Who are the Cultural Alliances partner organizations?
The Philly Fun Guide partners has seven partner organizations that display a custom version of the calendar on their own sites, in addition to the main site at www.phillyfunguide.com. They are Center City District, Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (Gophila.com), the Independence Visitor Center, Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau, Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia, University City District, and the Valley Forge Convention & Visitors Bureau.
In addition, we produce a special calendar for WXPN's Arts Crawl, with Michaela Majoun; a listing of programmatically accessible cultural events for Art Reach, and a community calendar for the Media Arts Council.
Who is eligible to have events included in the calendar?
Any organization that produces entertainment events (performing & visual arts, sports, etc.) can submit events for inclusion in the calendar, providing that they are not adult oriented and are open to the general public.
Will my event be promoted on all of the partner sites, in addition to phillyfunguide.com?
Yes. While your event may or may not be featured on our partner's landing page, your event will be accessible by doing a search from any partner site.
Where else will my event information appear?
Most of the partners in this project produce print brochures for tourist or local entertainment consumers. The information in the online calendar will be used to help produce these pieces. We also send select events every week to KYW Radio and Philly.com. KYW produces the PhillyFunGuide Minute, which runs on air every Thursday and Friday. Philly.com features our select events on their arts and visitors guide pages
How can I send my events?
Just click "Submit an Event" on the main page, www.phillyfunguide.com. You must submit your event 21 days prior to it starting. We recommend you submit as early as possible.
Can I change my event information once it is posted?
Yes. Send an e-mail to site_admin@phillyfunguide.com and we will make the changes, generally in 24 hours or next business day.
